The tenth in the world of women’s tennis – Paula Badosa, talks about her health.
“Hello everyone! I haven’t contacted you for a while, but I wanted to tell you about my situation. I’ve been going through some difficult times lately… Unfortunately, before Wimbledon I was diagnosed with a torn lumbar muscle and because of it I won’t be able to participate in tournaments for a few weeks… It’s a really difficult period for me right now, but I still hope that things will improve soon and there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you all for the great support!”, wrote Paula Badosa in social networks.
The 27-year-old tennis player was eliminated in the first round of Wimbledon, losing to Katie Butler with a score of 1-2 (2:6, 6:3, 4:6). Later, the Spaniard participated in the King’s Cup exhibition tournament, where she was unable to finish the match with her compatriot Jessica Bouzas Maneiro due to an injury.
The media also reported that Paula Badosa broke up with Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas immediately after her elimination from the British Open. However, she is scheduled to play alongside Stefanos Tsitsipas in the U.S. Open’s revamped mixed doubles event, which will take place a week before the August 24 to September 7 singles main draw.
