Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov has qualified for the quarterfinals of the APT Masters 1000 Miami tennis tournament after defeating Brandon Nakashima (USA) in the fourth round with 2-0 (6:4, 7:5). Grigor Dimitrov took the match in 1:24 hours. Thus, the Bulgarian player reaches the quarterfinals of this tournament for the second year in a row, and last year he even played in the final match.
Both tennis players started very solidly from the beginning of the match and each won his serve until 4:4. But it came to the ninth game, when Grigor Dimitrov broke and took the lead. This development had its own logic, since the Bulgarian was closer to receiving his opponent’s serve from the very beginning. Brandon Nakashima sent the ball into the net twice and this was used by the Bulgarian. In the last game, Grigor Dimitrov pulled early, had three set points, of which the American saved two, but had no strength for more.
In the second set, the match developed according to an identical scenario, with each player winning his serve until 5:5. Grigor Dimitrov could have broken at 3:4, but missed two break points. After that, however, he showed no mercy and took the game at 15 for 6:5. In the last game of the match, the Bulgarian tennis player player started with a double fault – 0:15. Immediately after, however, he made another ace – one of his strongest weapons, and at 30:15 he repeated the exercise. Finally, Brandon Nakashima failed to return Grigor’s second shot at the bottom of the court and sent the ball into the net, which was followed by another ace and 6:4, 7:5 for Grigor Dimitrov.
The Bulgarian tennis player did not allow a single break point throughout the match, and his confident play from the starting line was supported by 12 aces in the match.
