Felix Auger Aliassime has reignited his ambitions to qualify for the ATP Finals for the second time in his career after an impressive performance and reaching the semifinals of the US Open.
With just two months to go until the prestigious season finale, the competition for the “Race to Turin” rankings is heating up. Novak Djokovic and Alex de Minaur also made important strides forward during their campaigns in the final Grand Slam tournament of the year in New York.
Felix Auger Aliassime – 10th (2,705 points)
After a strong start to the season with titles in Adelaide and Montpellier, Felix Auger Aliassime looked in good shape for a spot at the ATP Finals. A mid-season slump had dented his chances, but a resurgence at the US Open has put him back in contention. The 25-year-old Canadian tennis player recorded consecutive wins over third-seeded Alexander Zverev, as well as Andrey Rublev and Alex de Minaur, to reach the semifinals, leaving him just two spots out of the playoff spot.
Novak Djokovic – 3rd (4,180 points)
Novak Djokovic continued his fine run in the Grand Slams, reaching his fourth consecutive semifinal before losing to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz. The 38-year-old Serb joined Jannik Sinner as the only players to reach the semifinals of all four Slams this year. The record seven-time ATP Finals champion, who also won his 100th tour title in Geneva in 2025, has climbed two places to third in the rankings.
Alex de Minaur – 7th (3,145 points)
Alex de Minaur made his ATP Finals debut last year, becoming the first Australian since Lleyton Hewitt (2004) to qualify for the tournament. After reaching the quarter-finals of this year’s US Open, the 26-year-old tennis player looks well-placed to return to Turin. Alex de Minaur, who won his first title of the season in Washington in July, leads the Tour in hardcourt wins in 2025 with 28.
Lorenzo Musetti – 8th (3,070 points)
After a slow start on the North American Tour, Lorenzo Musetti turned things around in New York, reaching his first Grand Slam hardcourt quarterfinal. The breakthrough puts the 23-year-old Italian back in the qualifying zone for Turin, where he will be aiming to make his debut. Lorenzo Musetti is 30-13 this season, with semifinals at all three clay-court Masters events as well as Roland Garros.
